Scope and accountability
This policy applies to personal information handled by Wildrose through its website, accounts, marketplace, support, and safety work. Wildrose follows Alberta’s Personal Information Protection Act and other privacy law where it applies. Another user or linked service may have separate responsibilities for information you give them.
02Information collectedWildrose collects what it reasonably needs to provide and protect the service.

- Account and contact information, verification, recovery, and active-session records.
- Profile information, including a display name, profile photo, biography, and chosen Alberta area.
- Listings, photos, saves, connections, messages, reports, and support communications.
- Billing records for products and services sold by Wildrose.
- Basic device, network, request, and security information needed to deliver and protect the service.
For a Wildrose purchase, payment details are entered in the secure checkout form. Wildrose does not store complete card numbers or card security codes.
03Public and private informationPublishing a profile or listing does not publish the private record behind it.
Public and private information
Information you choose to publish may include your display name, approved profile photo and biography, seller type, approximate Alberta area, listings, listing photos, and limited verification or reputation information.
Account email, phone, exact home or worksite location, passwords, active sessions, drafts, saves, private connections, messages, original media, reports, review notes, payment records, and internal safety signals are not public. Search engines and other people may copy information that you publish.

Wildrose uses personal information to provide requested features; verify account or business authority; route discovery by category and approximate area; deliver messages and media; process Wildrose purchases; prevent fraud, spam, harassment, and account takeover; respond to support, safety, privacy, and legal requests; and maintain the service.
Wildrose does not use private messages, exact location, protected traits, or outside dossiers to sell advertising or inflate reputation.
05When information is sharedInformation is shared only for the feature, your direction, or a valid legal reason.
When information is shared
Wildrose may share public content with visitors and search services; messages and deliberately shared details with their intended recipients; necessary information with contracted service providers; and relevant information with advisers, authorities, or other parties where law permits or requires it.
Wildrose does not sell or rent personal information or share it for cross-site behavioural advertising.
06Consent and communicationsOptional marketing stays separate from account and safety messages.
Consent and communications
Wildrose identifies the purpose for collecting information and asks for additional consent when required. You may change eligible profile, notification, connection, location, and content choices. Withdrawing consent may end a feature but does not erase records that must be kept by law.
Account, security, receipt, policy, and requested support messages may be necessary. Marketing messages require consent or another lawful basis, identify the sender, and include a working unsubscribe method. A connection request, listing inquiry, or account requirement is not marketing consent.

08Cookies and local storageStorage is used for account, security, preference, and checkout functions—not advertising profiles.
Cookies and local storage
Wildrose uses necessary session cookies and limited local storage for sign-in, security, and preferences. Secure checkout may use storage needed to prevent fraud and complete payment. Wildrose does not use third-party advertising cookies. Optional analytics or advertising storage will not be added without updating this policy and any required consent choice first.
09Retention and securityInformation is kept only as long as reasonably needed and protected for its sensitivity.
Retention and security
Wildrose keeps personal information only as long as reasonably needed for the stated purpose, safety, disputes, tax, accounting, or other legal duties. Removing content or closing an account may hide it before retained copies are deleted or anonymized. A legal hold pauses deletion only for the records it covers.
Wildrose uses reasonable administrative, physical, and technical safeguards. If a breach creates a real risk of significant harm, Wildrose will notify Alberta’s privacy regulator without unreasonable delay and notify affected people where required.
10Access, correction, and complaintsYou may ask what Wildrose holds and ask to correct errors.
Access, correction, and complaints
You may make a written request for access to your personal information, information about its use and disclosure, or correction of an error. Wildrose may verify your identity and must protect other people’s information. Under Alberta PIPA, the ordinary response period is 45 calendar days, subject to lawful extensions and exceptions.
Where a correction is not made, Wildrose will note the request where required. You may also ask for an account export or closure through available account controls. Unresolved privacy concerns may be taken to the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Alberta.
