For vehicles, equipment, livestock, and other high-value trades, inspection is part of the deal, not an inconvenience. Match the seller’s identity to ownership records where appropriate, inspect serial or registration details privately, and use a qualified third party when the stakes justify it.

• Do not send a deposit because someone says other buyers are waiting.

• For loads and equipment, agree on transport, loading, and liability before arrival.
